Forensic Team From AIIMS Delhi Will Examine Sushant Singh Rajput Case
The forensic team led by Dr. Sudhir Gupta, head of forensic department at AIIMS, Delhi, is going to investigate the injury pattern in relation to the medical findings of the Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
Sushant was allegedly died by suicide on 14th June, 2020 at his Bandra residence, Mumbai. Later on, the fan-followers of the actor raised questions on his sudden death. In the wake of huge outrage on social media, Supreme Court gave its verdict on Wednesday directing the Central Bureau of Investigation to probe into the death of the actor.
According to media reports, (Prof) Dr Sudhir Gupta, head of forensic department at AIIMS said, “CBI is collecting all the reports related to SSR case and they will submit the same to us very soon. We will analyze the injury pattern on the body, correlate with circumstantial evidences. We will also examine other trace evidences preserved at the time of autopsy to differentiate between hanging and murder allegations.”
It is reported that CBI has made request to AIIMS forensic team for giving their medico-legal opinion on SSR case. That is why, a medical board of forensic experts has been constituted under the chairmanship of (Prof) Dr Gupta.
Dr. Gupta told media, “We have to be clear from all the suspicion which is being raised in this case. Based on the reports, forensic experts here will investigate the cause of death occurred due to hanging or ligature strangulation as it has a very thin line of difference,” said Dr Gupta said.
(Prof) Dr. Gupta and his team had also dealt with Sheena Bora case and Sunanda Pushkar case in the past and gave their medico-legal opinion in the same.
